ABOUT ME

Jodi Bouma

I’ve been a photographer for over 15 years. Having completed both a Diploma of Photography and a Diploma of Graphic Arts, I bring storytelling skills and an eye for design to all my work. And I’ve been accredited with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) in the past, which means you can be confident that you’ll receive a truly professional service.

My home base is the Dandenong Ranges, in a lovely studio surrounded by rolling hills and blessed with stunning afternoon light. This gorgeous part of Victoria definitely makes for some fantastic photos, whether it’s to celebrate a family together for an afternoon of fun.

When I’m not busy behind the lens, you’ll find me on a bushwalk with my family or sitting on our deck with a cup of tea in hand.

The Portrait Photography Experience

Portrait photography – whether it’s family, children, newborn or couples – is such a wonderful gift to give to your family and should be a memorable experience. This is why I take the time to get to know what’s important to you.

Each photography session is then personalised to ensure you get images that truly reflect who you are.

Book your photography session

Sessions are held either in your home or location of your choice, depending on the type of portrait photography and your desired goals. Portrait photography sessions are available Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends giving you the flexibility to work around your other family commitments.

Note that Saturdays tend to book out early, so get in touch with me as soon as you know you’d like to book.

Once you know you’d like to book a portrait photography session, get in touch with me. As a first step, we’ll chat briefly about what type of session you’d like along with potential locations.

Once you’re happy with the details, you’ll pay a booking fee and I’ll schedule your session in my calendar.

Getting to know you

Before your photography session, we’ll chat over the phone to plan your session. I take the time to get to know your family’s interests and personalities.

This is also an opportunity to chat about what you’d like to wear for your session, as well as any items you’d like to bring.

Your photography session

On the day of your photography session it’s ideal if you can be as relaxed as possible. Treat it as a fun outing you’re doing together as a family. In fact, I try to make my photography sessions as enjoyable as possible, as this results in the best photos.

When it comes to what to wear, stick to what you’re comfortable in. Neutral colours look stunning in photos (creams, browns, mustards, tans, whites, olives and pastels) in linen, lace and knits.

View your photos

After our session, the images I captured will go through an editing process. The photos will then be uploaded to your personal gallery approximately 2 weeks after your session.
